After obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba Bruce articled with Coopers & Lybrand obtaining his Chartered Accountants designation in 1984.
Bruce than began his career in the construction and development business with Matthews Group Limited. During his tenure at Matthews sales increased from $69 million to over $500 million as operations expanded both nationally and internationally with offices added in the United States, Pakistan and Mexico. Complex systems were introduced to handle the increased reporting demands necessitated by large fleets of equipment, increased bonding and finance exposure and time and distance constraints.
Bruce's greatest strength is his ability to constantly assess on the job performance to ensure costs are in line with projections and extras are kept to a minimum. Innovative financing is sought out for all projects and communications to all parties concerned with job performance is provided in a clear concise manner.
