As manager of The Tribute, a 1,600 acre master-planned community located in The Colony, Texas, Kathy has combined her skills of strategic planning and development with effective builder programming. Kathy brings a thorough knowledge of all phases of residential, golf and resort construction to deliver quality neighborhoods and amenities in this unique community. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, she works closely with land planners, engineers, contractors and governmental agencies from entitlement through city acceptance to effectively turn Jack Matthews' vision for The Tribute into a reality. Tax increment financing and homeowner association management are also part of her skill set. Additionally, she evaluates new land acquisition opportunities for MSW as time permits.
Kathy began her private sector career in the 80's with Trammell Crow Residential as a Project Manager of master-planned communities in the DFW market. After leaving Crow, she was employed with Club Corporation of America for 15 years where she added country club and destination golf resort development to her field of expertise. She joined Southern Land Company in 2005 to manage Tucker Hill, a TND community, in McKinney, TX. Her previous public sector experience includes positions as Planning & Development Director, Economic Development Director and Assistant Director of Revenue & Taxation for the City of Dallas along with municipal land and land rights procurement.
Kathy received a BBA in marketing from Southern Methodist University and an MBA in finance from the University of Nebraska.
