About the project:

A residential and retail complex, South Side on Lamar is the core of approximately 2.5 million SF of completed development in the South Side neighborhood since the initial investment in 1997. Located just south of the Dallas Convention Center, South Side on Lamar includes 466 high-rise commercial and residential lofts, converted from the historic Sears Roebuck Catalog Merchandise Center (1913). South Side on Lamar has consistently operated at over 90% occupancy.

The South Side neighborhood is located just south of the Dallas Convention Center and represents an approx. 40-acre transit-oriented development. This does not including adjacent 65+ acres between Riverfront Blvd and the UP Railway line, currently designated for transit-oriented development surrounding the planned high-speed-rail terminal. At build-out the HSR development will have over 10 million sf of office, hotel, retail and residential development.

  • MSW, with its partners and the addition project in the area, have overseen the investment of over $300 million in the South Side neighborhood in numerous residential, office, retail and hotel projects, since 1997. This does not include MSW’s development of the Omni Hotel for the City of Dallas ($450m, 1001 room Omni Hotel, completed in 2011) which is immediately north of MSW’s holdings along Lamar St
  • approximately 2.5 million sf have been developed in the South Side neighborhood (this is over 3.5 million sf when one Includes the Omni Hotel). Upon build-out, MSW will have developed another 4 million SF of residential, commercial and hotel space in the area.
  • Since MSW’s redevelopment of the neighborhood, approximately 2,000 new jobs have been created in the area.
